Zoom for Government is a FedRAMP Authorized SaaS service operating at the Moderate baseline with reciprocity to DoD Impact Level 2. Zoom for Government has also received an Authorization to Operate with Conditions at Department of Defense Impact Level 4 (ATO-C) for Zoom Meetings with the Department of the Air Force. The Zoom for Government platform utilizes AWS GovCloud and U.S.-based co-located data centers and is managed by U.S. Persons only. The platform leverages FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic solutions and 256-bit AES-GCM encryption.
While built for U.S. federal agencies, Zoom for Government is also available to U.S. state and local government customers, as well as other approved businesses and organizations that support the U.S. government.
Zoom for Government co-located data centers and storage locations are CONUS (Continental U.S.) only.
Zoom for Government provides its users with the same seamless, secure, and reliable Zoom experience, but operates in a dedicated, secure infrastructure designed to meet the requirements of the FedRAMP Moderate baseline and DoD Impact Level 2.
While the commercial Zoom platform and the Zoom for Government platform share the same code base, there are distinct and purposeful differences in the Zoom for Government System Development Life Cycle. In addition, the Zoom for Government platform is managed by U.S. Persons only, and all customer-generated data remains within the Zoom for Government boundary in CONUS.
Zoom for Government updates are generally released on a separate schedule, which can be up to several weeks after the changes are made on the commercial Zoom platform.
Zoom for Government is subject to FedRAMP Moderate baseline controls and continuous compliance monitoring in accordance with the FedRAMP program guidelines.
